Holey Moley! New mini-golf course, bar to expand to Austin in March

Holey Moley to open Austin location in March

Fore! A new golf course — mini golf, that is — is coming to Austin.

The Holey Moley Golf Club, a bar and mini-golf concept that integrates pop culture and nostalgia into its holes' designs, is planning to open its second U.S. location in Austin in late March, according to a news release from Funlab, the bar's Australian owner.

Holy Moley's first location was opened in Denver in September after gaining popularity in Australia. More locations are expected to be added in Houston and San Francisco later this year.

"Austin is a natural fit for our irreverent Holey Moley concept," said Funlab USA CEO Blaise Witnish in a prepared statement. "The city is a desired destination and full of vibrant energy. Austin plays host to major annual city-wide events, is home to a thriving collegiate and business community, and its residents and visitors know how to have a good time. We're thrilled to bring our unparalleled entertainment experience, and over-the-top venue to the people of Austin."

The Holey Moley expansion will be housed in the former Native Hostel building located at 807 E. 4th St., according to the release. It's expected to hold 500 people and feature three courses totaling 27 holes.

The venue will also have an outdoor space with a stage for music and dining. A private karaoke room will fit up to 15 people and can be rented for events.

Holey Moley is currently in the process of hiring Austinites to work in a variety of roles. Those interested can apply for employment through Holey Moley's careers page.
