Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager foresee matching tattoos in their future.

During their segment on Friday’s episode of the Today show, the hosts chatted about the possibility of getting friendship ink, inspired by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s permanent tribute to Wicked.

“What if we got matching tattoos? What if we really did it?” Kotbe, 59, asked after Bush Hager, who revealed that she came close to getting a “Choose Joy” hand tattoo with her high school besties one time.

“ Are you serious about it?” Bush Hager, 42, asked.

The pals and co-hosts started planning out their designs, which would ultimately mark their first-ever tats.

A possible option: a hand tattoo of a wave — doodled by their children! Kotb is a mom of two to her adopted daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine, while Bush Hager shares daughters, Mila and Poppy, and son, Hal, with her husband, Henry Chase Hager.

“Is that cheesy?” Bush Hager asked, with an immediate “Yes” from Kotb.

They also considered having their little ones initials inked on their bodies, which might come with some confusion.

“Do you know my kids’ names? M P H,” said Bush Hager, Kotb noting that her kids' letters are “H [and] H.”

The unlikely letter combos, the ladies figured out, could also mean “miles per hour” and “H squared.”

So back to the drawing board it is!

Bush Hager isn’t new to the concept of body art, and she’s come close to sealing the deal on multiple occasions.

In an episode aired in September, the journalist admitted that she once considered getting a tattoo of a popular Destiny’s Child song to signify ending a long-time on-again, off-again relationship.

“I ended up getting back together with the person about 47 times,” she said. “But my friend, Tracy, was like, ‘It’s enough already. Get up.’ And we went out and we danced and I almost got ‘Survivor’ tattooed on my back.” In Bush Hager’s defense, the song was a hit.
