Hoda Kotb Announces Engagement On Air; Hid Ring From Co-Hosts In Her Bra
Hoda Kotb spilled the tea live on the "Today Show" that she is engaged to her longtime love, Joel Schiffman.
She shared the exciting news with co-hosts, Savannah Guthrie, Jenna Bush Hager, Craig Melvin and Al Roker on Monday's episode.
The TV icon teased her story in a very strange way by pretending a mutual friend of the hosts wanted her to announce something.
"I have to tell you something that a friend of mine, a friend of ours asked me to let you guys in on a secret," Hoda sheepishly said.
"Well, I'll give you her initials. Her initials are Hoda Kotb and she's engaged!"

She Hid The Ring Close To Her Heart
A shock wave hit her co-hosts after Hoda delivered the big announcement and the panel let out several weird sounds.
Al Roker shook his head in disbelief and made the funniest cartoon howl while Savannah said, "What are you talking about?"
Kotb proudly held her hand out so the hosts and cameras could get a view of the giant sparkling ring.
Craig Melvin pointed at the new bling bling and exclaimed, "Was that on the whole time?"
Hoda could not contain her laughter and revealed that she had the ring stashed away in her bra and had just put it on before she broke the news.
How Did He Pop The Question?
She revealed that Schiffman popped the question during a romantic beachside date during their dessert.
"I was eating the churros," Hoda said. "I was licking the bottom of the bowl. And he was like, ‘I have something else I'd to say.' He said some beautiful things and then he got down on one knee and he said, ‘Will you be my wife?'"
She joked that they have not told their children despite telling a national audience.
"How are we going to explain, ‘Your parents are going to get married?'" she said. "We're still trying to figure out that part!"
They Already Live Together And Have Two Daughters
After three years together, Joel and Hoda moved in together in 2016. At the time she mentioned how weird the experience was on her SiriusXM radio show.
"It's a little weird to be in your 50s and we're like 'Hey, we're moving in!'" she continued, "It's like you're kids. It's so weird. I was afraid to tell my own mother that I was moving in with my boyfriend. I was afraid."
A year later, Hoda announced that they adopted a beautiful girl named Haley Joy Kotb. Two years later they adopted their second daughter, Hope Catherine Kotb.
