Hiroshi Tanahashi is staying with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

In a post on his blog, Tanahashi announced that he renewed his NJPW contract alongside a visit to the company’s offices. Tanahashi did not share details regarding the terms of the deal.

Tanahashi has been wrestling for NJPW since 1999, and he has gradually become one of the promotion’s top stars. Often referred to as “The Ace”, Tanahashi is an eight-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion. He has also held the IWGP United States Championship three times. Tanahashi is also a three-time winner of the G1 Climax tournament, and he was the second NJPW Grand Slam Champion. Additionally, Tanahashi is a three-time IWGP Tag Team Champion and a three-time NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champion.

During his career, he has also wrestled for CMLL and TNA, among other promotions. In 2022, he made a few appearances for AEW, and he faced Jon Moxley at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
