HILLSDALE — The Hillsdale College Student Athlete Advisory Committee hosted its fourth annual Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, Oct. 29.

Hillsdale College athletic teams, clubs, dorms, fraternities and sororities set up booths and provided games for local trick-or-treaters. The event was open to the greater Hillsdale community, with about 500 children attending throughout the afternoon.

“Trunk-or-Treat brings together teams, student organizations and the local community in a way that creates so many new relationships,” said Nikki Walbright, faculty adviser of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. “I am impressed with the number of both college students and community members who made this event possible.”

Hillsdale College students representing 25 different campus groups participated, with 34 cars and trick-or-treat stations. Each participating group provided candy, but the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee also hosted candy donations throughout the week to supply some extra sweets during the festivities.

“We greatly appreciate everyone who helped make this event a success. Our goal is to connect college students and the athletic department with ways to support the community,” Walbright said.

Hillsdale College’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee organized the event for the past four years to provide the children of Hillsdale County an opportunity to trick-or-treat safely outdoors.
