Hillary Clinton tells bad jokes on 'Late Night With Seth Meyers'

Hillary Clinton stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers to join the host and comedy writers, Amber Ruffin and Jenny Hagel in a segment called “Jokes Seth Can’t Tell” where Clinton was able to give the audience punchlines that only she could deliver. When Meyers said, “According to a recent article, Chardonnay is making a comeback,” Clinton responded, “And they said I wouldn’t be able to create jobs.”

Post-election chardonnay enthusiasm actually might be a punchline Meyers could deliver on, but the next joke was definitely tailor-made for Clinton. When Meyers said, “The retractable roof on Atlanta’s NFL stadium is not working properly,” Clinton said, “Oh, well, at least that ceiling’s broken.”

And when Seth said, “According to a recent report, koalas may be extinct by the year 2040,” Clinton said, “And according to Fox News, that’s my fault.”

Though Clinton might not want to run away to join the comedy circus just yet, she definitely gets an ‘A’ for effort.

Late Night With Seth Meyers airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
