Hillary Clinton is yet another politician warning Americans that a second Donald Trump presidency would not go well for the country. The former Secretary of State’s downright frightening discussion with the hosts of The View revealed just how worried she is about the possibility.

“I can’t even think that, because I think it would be the end of our country as we know it, and I don’t say that lightly. I hated losing, and I especially hated losing to him because I’d seen so many warning signals during the campaign,” Clinton noted. “Literally, from his inauguration on, it was nothing but accusing people of things, making up facts, denying the size of the crowd at his own inauguration. Everything I worried about; I saw unfolding.”

Clinton is alarmed by a possible second term in the Oval Office because Donald Trump was “restrained” by his senior advisers during his first administration. In 2024, she believes that he would change up his presidential strategy and surround himself with “people who have no principles, no conscience, who are totally tied to his fortunes, literally, and therefore would do whatever he said.” She warned, “The wreckage is almost unimaginable.”

As someone who knew Donald Trump both professionally and personally in New York (remember, they used to be friends), Clinton stressed that “Trump is telling us what he intends to do.” She added, “Take him at his word. The man means to throw people in jail who disagree with him, shut down legitimate press outlets, do what he can to undermine the rule of law and country’s values.”

The country has been warned, but will Republican voters listen to Clinton? Some GOP leaders, like Sen. Mitt Romney, are trying to rally their supporters behind any candidate not named Donald Trump, but the four-times-indicted former president is still in the lead for the Republican nomination — and Clinton has sounded the alarm bells.
