Hillary Clinton Concession Speech Delivers Record Ratings For Fox News Channel

Hillary Clinton’s concession speech yesterday showered cable news networks with record ratings.

Fox News Channel clocked the largest crowd in its history for the 11 AM-noon ET time slot when Clinton told America of the man she previously advised was dangerous for the country: “We must accept this result and then look to the future. Donald Trump is going to be our president…We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead.”

A whopping 7.9 million viewers tuned in to FNC to watch the former Secretary of State deliver that morning-after address. That was FNC’s biggest audience of the very big news day, besting all of its primetime.

CNN and MSNBC also bagged their biggest numbers of the day covering Clinton’s morning speech. Another 5.4M viewers watched her remarks on CNN, and 2.2M turned to MSNBC.

FNC also dominated in the news demo during the Dem candidate’s concession speech; the network snagged 2.048M viewers aged 25-54. CNN delivered 1.806M viewers in the age bracket. MSNBC logged 2.021M viewers in the demo.

FNC similarly dominated post-election coverage in primetime Wednesday. FNC clocked 5.9M viewers from 8-11 PM, besting CNN’s 2.9M and MSNBC’s 1.8M combined.

In the news demo, FNC snagged 1.6M viewers, to CNN’s 1.27M and MSNBC’s 562K.

Meanwhile, with questions about global economic reax to Trump’s election dogging the day after, Fox Business Network (467K, 84K) topped CNBC (314K, 69K) in business day, in total viewers and the news demo.
