Hulu dropped the trailer for its new Hillary Clinton-focused docuseries “Hillary” on Thursday, during the Television Critics Association press tour. The four-part show follows the woman, the myth, the legend, herself, all throughout her political career, including her 2016 presidential campaign. But it also goes way back to before she was interested in pursuing that path.
In the trailer, which you can view above, the former U.S. secretary of state and her husband Bill Clinton tell the story of their meet-cute back in law school, when the future FLOTUS and POTUS say they couldn’t stop looking at each other in class.
“I said, ‘If you’re gonna keep looking at me and I’m gonna keep looking back, we oughta know each other’s names. I’m Hillary Rodham, who are you?'” Hillary says.
Bill adds: “She was different than anybody I ever met. I said, ‘I really wanna marry you, but you shouldn’t marry me.'”
Oh, if you’re more interested in hearing about “her emails,” don’t worry, the trailer promises to get into that, too.
Per Hulu, “A remarkably intimate portrait of a public woman, ‘Hillary’ interweaves revealing moments from never-before-seen 2016 campaign footage with biographical chapters of her life. Featuring exclusive interviews with Hillary Rodham Clinton herself, Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, friends and journalists, the series examines how she became at once one of the most admired and vilified women in the world.”
The series was directed by Oscarâ nominee Nanette Burstein (“On The Ropes”) and executive produced by Burstein, Howard T. Owens and Ben Silverman for Propagate.
“Hillary” premieres March 6 on Hulu.
