The Hilarious Trailer For 'Between Two Ferns: The Movie" Is Loaded With Star Cameos

The Perfect Distillation Of The Internet

Webseries come and go, but Funny Or Die's Between Two Ferns brought a particular brand of weirdness to the Internet. Hosted by Zach Galifianakis, this spoof of self-important celebrity interviews was a perfect riff on pop culture and celebrity in general. The last two episodes aired in 2016 and 2018 respectively, so it's been a minute since we've seen Galifianakis' particular brand of strange.

    A New Netflix Movie

Luckily, Netflix is coming to the rescue with a new feature length film, Between Two Ferns: The Movie. Featuring cameos from a whole slew of A-listers, including Matthew McConaughey, Will Ferrell, Jon Hamm, Brie Larson, and Benedict Cumberbatch. It will drop on the streaming service on September 20, and is definitely not coming to theaters.

Will It Work In A Longer Form?

While the trailer is hilarious, it will be interesting to see how the traditionally short form comedy will translate to a full length movie. Will his schtick grow old or is this just a new realm to conquer? I guess we'll see later this month.

The acting Navy secretary promises he'll fix the Ford aircraft carrier because he's tired of it being a 'whipping boy for why the Navy can't do anything right'

bigO: 1) The headline should reference it as the USS Ford - not just "Ford". Yeah, I might be nit-picking a bit. But, as a former sailor, I think it is important. 3) The sad but simple truth is new lines of ships (which the USS Ford is) always seem to have major issues. The same is really true with any new platform regardless of the branch. Does anyone remember all of the problems with the Ospreys? Lots of people in Congress wanted it shutdown because of all the problems, but the military wanted it because they understood what it meant for the future. As someone who tested new equipment when I served, I can relate (on a smaller scale) to the problems they are having on the USS Ford.
