Hilarious incorrect answer may admittedly be ‘Jeopardy!’ champ’s legacy
Charles appeared to be in charge of Wednesday's Jeopardy!, as the category “Chuck D, Times 3” had two clues that featured Charles Dickens and two clues that featured Charles Darwin, that is until the real Chuck D was an actual clue.
Host Mayim Bialik read, “In the 1980’s Chuck D began fighting the power in this hip-hop group with Flavor Flav, a man who always knew what time it was.”
While Carlton Douglas Ridenhour is known to many as Chuck D, contestant Halley Ryherd did not count herself amongst that specific many.
She answered, “What is the Funky Bunch?”
The Funky Bunch was actually headlined by Marky Mark, who grew up to be A-list actor Mark Wahlberg. And viewers on Twitter couldn’t believe Halley made such a mistake.
In fact so many people commented on the mistake that Halley herself tweeted, “I’ve talked to my therapist about it and I think I’m ready to forever be the person who mixed up Public Enemy and Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch on Jeopardy!. #mylegacy”
Despite the gaffe Halley managed to finish the game with good vibrations, as she took home the win and $5,999 in cash.
