Hulu has released the first teaser for Zoe Kravitz’s “High Fidelity,” and it starts with Kravitz doing a dramatic reenactment of the ending of “Braveheart.”
A retelling of the 1995 novel by Nick Hornby and the 2000 feature film which starred John Cusack as a record store owner and list-maker, who recounts his Top 5 breakups. The new iteration will flip the script by telling the story from a female point of view through Kravitz’s character, who is described as “the ultimate music fan, a record store owner who’s obsessed with pop culture and Top Five lists.”
The series premieres Feb. 14, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The remake, which has a 10-episode order, comes from writers Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka and is an ABC Signature Studios production. It was originally ordered at Disney+ but moved to Hulu in April.
Jake Lacy stars alongside Kravitz as Clyde, who is described as effortlessly cute, if not the coolest guy in the room. A recent New York transplant from L.A., he’s still trying to figure out how to navigate the city. Despite his lack of interest in music, he reveals a funny and open side that intrigues Rob (Kravitz). But he might prove to be just like all the other guys… or so it seems.
