The Barbie Dreamhouse will no longer be just a toy — HGTV is making it into a real-life home.

The network announced April 12 that it will release a new competition series "Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge" on HGTV and Max this summer that will see Barbie's iconic home brought to life as an actual home.

Hosted by Ashley Graham, the show will have four episodes and will feature top HGTV talent as they renovate and redesign a real home into a life-size Barbie Dreamhouse. At the end of the series, a Barbie fan will win a stay inside the house.

“It’s really felt super nostalgic, because I’m such a big Barbie fan, and, growing up with Barbie, this feels very important," Graham told USA TODAY during a recent set visit about her experience hosting the series. "I also love a good house renovation. I love a good redesign. So it’s been really exciting to watch in real-time as well.”

A teaser trailer released April 12 says the series features "the largest HGTV team ever assembled."

HGTV home design and renovation experts and a Food Network chef will participate. They are Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson ("Married to Real Estate"); Jasmine Roth ("Help! I Wrecked My House") and Antonia Lofaso ("Beachside Brawl"); Ty Pennington ("Rock the Block") and Alison Victoria ("Windy City Rehab"); Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin ("Farmhouse Fixer"); Christina Hall and James Bender ("Christina on the Coast"); Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas ("Bargain Block"); Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt ("100 Day Dream Home"); and Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle Williams ("Luxe for Less").

The series arrives in the midst of press for Greta Gerwig's highly anticipated "Barbie" film starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken respectively. The film hits theaters July 21.

Buzz about the film has fueled a resurgence of Barbie mania in pop culture, with celebrities rocking neon-pink Barbiecore fashion on red carpets.

Fashion experts previously told USA TODAY the comeback of Barbie's bright pink aesthetic has been a way for people to embrace cheer, lightheartedness and confidence.

"In the early stages of the pandemic, people would say there's always a renaissance after a moment like this," Gianluca Russo, author of "The Power of Plus," previously told USA TODAY. "This is the fashion renaissance happening: this very fast pivot from the dark era to something that's bright and youthful and colorful."
