HGTV designer Hilary Farr is leaving “Love It or List It” after 258 episodes on the home makeover/real estate series. She was featured on the show for 17 seasons alongside real estate agent David Visentin, with whom she had a friendly rivalry.

On the show, Farr and Visentin competed to win over homeowners with their pitches on whether to keep their newly remodeled home their home or sell it. While Visentin showed homeowners other potential houses on the market, Farr would renovate their current home; the owners would decide to “love it or list it” by the end of each episode.

Farr released a statement on stepping away from the show: “It’s been a wonderful 12 years. I’m so grateful to the network for their support and to my fans who have stayed loyal and true. David and I will remain friends forever and I expect him to be as fabulously and hilariously annoying as ever,” said Farr. “‘Love It or List It’ has had such a true impact on so many lives, including mine, but now it’s time for me to embrace new challenges that have come my way. If this is my legacy, it’s a great one.”

Visentin also commented on his colleague and friend’s departure.

“Working with Hilary has been a wild, unforgettable ride. I’d like to forget the mountain of ‘love its’ but hey, she’s a talented lady,” said David. “Although we were rivals on the show, we became quick friends and share countless memories both on and off set. I look forward to continuing that friendship and wish her all the best in everything she does.”

Fans of Farr can find a “Love It or List It” marathon airing on HGTV from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. ET/PT today. Her solo series “Tough Love with Hilary Farr” can be streamed on Max.
