HGTV Announces New 'Zillow Gone Wild' Series Will Showcase 'Wildly Quirky' Homes
The network will air a new series inspired by the account, which posts the most eccentric homes, in early 2024

Popular Instagram account Zillow Gone Wild is expanding into its own show.
HGTV has greenlit a new eight-part series inspired by the account of the same name, which documents the most unconventional and eccentric houses on the market, and it's set to premiere in early 2024.
The network announced that each half-hour episode will showcase “three weird, wonderful and wildly quirky homes and share the backstories of their buyers, sellers and unique histories” and share the creative ways the properties are marketed.
Viewers will then be told which homes were sold and for how much. A one-hour finale revealing the most over-the top property will complete the series.

Zillow Gone Wild has racked up 1.8 million followers since its creation by Samir Mezrahi in late 2020.
Content is shared almost daily on the account, revealing the craziest pieces of real estate around the country, including a gothic church transformed into a house, a Barbiecore home and a castle, found on the popular marketplace database Zillow.
“Millions of people are obsessed with scrolling through outrageous and over-the-top properties on social media while dreaming about where they would like to live,” said Loren Ruch, head of content at HGTV. “Zillow Gone Wild will take the fascination a step further by giving fans a cheeky glimpse inside the most unusual homes on the market, offering those unexpected ‘wow’ moments that will keep viewers coming back for more.”

Mezrahi revealed that he created Zillow Gone Wild after spotting the strangest homes “with bowling alleys, indoor pools, jail cells” listed on Zillow.
“For me, it’s been fun to see all the interesting homes that are out there,” Mezrahi told Bored Panda. “I’m surprised at how many people have built actual castles and how many insanely large mansions there are in places like Utah and Ohio.”

The account creator said that these wild homes are constructed from a “combination of taste and money” and added that the strangest home he has come across is “one with all the strawberries in the bunkers.”
Despite his fascination with the eccentric villa, Mezrahi concluded that he could not live in it. “I’d worry about having to vacuum all of that space,” he added jokingly.
