The track will serve as the first release of the singer’s new era, the follow-up to her breakthrough and record-breaking debut album, Sour, in 2021.

With Sour, Olivia burst onto the music scene, winning three Grammy Awards and charting two songs, “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U,” to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. The album also went No. 1.

Olivia’s fans quickly detected that her “Vampire” song announcement and single art may include several important hints about what to expect from the singer’s new era.

The single art featured a black-and-white side portrait of Olivia with two purple Band-Aids forming an X on her neck.

This is notable for several reasons. First, she's a longtime Twilight stan.

So a song titled “Vampire” could be proof that the singer’s love for the film will play an essential role in her sophomore album.

Fans quickly picked up on the Twilight undertones of the single art and title.

Olivia just so happens to be mentioned in the account's Twitter bio, though it's unclear when the text "olivia rodrigo loves me" was added.

Then there’s purple being the only source of color in the otherwise black-and-white photo. Purple has long been a signature color for the singer, most notably serving as the backdrop for the Sour album artwork.

so Olivia is gonna keep the purple theme going?? i really wasn't expecting that. there's clearly a lot of symbolism to it tho, especially with the bandages being purple, so i'm very excited

Purple has also been heavily featured in her promotional material, her brand collabs, and on her tour.

Olivia's 2022 Grammys dress also notably featured purple as an accent color.

If one thing is for certain, the Livies are awake and ready to feast on the new song when it drops.
