Here's where to find St. Louis-style pizza — and more — in Springfield

National Pizza Week starts Jan. 14 — we know, in a town with multiple colleges like Springfield, it's easier to ask when it isn't pizza week. However, if you get a hankering for some 'za during the official holiday, here are some places to get it.

Where to get St. Louis-style pizza

Additionally, if you're craving Columbia mainstay Shakespeare's Pizza, there are a number of Springfield grocery stories that carry the frozen pies. Visit shakespeares.com/frozen-pizza-locations to find the nearest supermarket that has them.

Got a craving for something other than St. Louis style?

St. Louis-style pizza is all well and good. But what if you want something else?

Arris' Pizza at 1332 E. Republic Road offers a thin crust "Greek pizza." Neighborhood Pizza Cafe, 3550 N. Glenstone Ave., offers both thin crust and hand-tossed pizza.

Still not satisfied or looking for a specific kind of pizza?

If you want New York-style pizza, there are a few places in Springfield where you can get it:

If you want something closer to a casserole than a pizza — Chicago deep dish — there is only one place that offers it. However, Archie's Italian Eatery, 1410 E. Republic Road, does offer deep dish and Chicago stuffed pizza. According to its Facebook page, Archie's also offers a Chicago-style thin crust — not to be confused with the St. Louis-style.

If you're really craving a taste of Chicago, there are plenty of frozen options to satisfy you: Lou Malnati's ships its deep dish and thin crust and Giordano's ships its deep dish. Don't feel like paying for shipping? Many local grocery stores have Gino's East thin crust and deep dish as well as Home Run Inn thin crust in their frozen section.
