Here's where to get great takeout at the Jersey Shore for your Super Bowl party

Some people watch the Super Bowl for the football.

Others — like us! — watch it for the food.

We aren't sure what it is about Super Bowl Sunday that gives us carte blanche to consume calories — but bring on the Buffalo wings, guacamole, pizza and burgers!

If you're planning to order food for game day (Feb. 11), here's what local restaurants, food trucks and delis are cooking.

If you want food from The Galley, order early: Owner Kris Black sold out of his Super Bowl packages last year, and the restaurant was out of food in general before the game began.

The Super Bowl menu features boxes of cheeseburgers sliders ($55 to $180), smoked wings ($80 to $275), Detroit pizza ($80 to $100), and trays of french fries, salad, pasta and crispy chicken sandwiches ($25 to $90). Or get a little of everything with the Game Day box, containing Detroit pizza, boneless Buffalo wings, smoked wings, smash burgers and french fries ($85).

Last year, Harry Clayton sold more than 2,400 wings on Super Bowl Sunday — from his food truck.

His Buffalo wings are smoked then fried, and obviously popular, so Clayton recommends customers order early.

Football fans wanting more than wings can order from his catering menu, which has pulled pork and chicken, racks of ribs, brisket and smoked meatloaf ($30 to $180), plus trays of beans, macaroni and cheese, potato salad and cornbread ($35 to $90).

The Super Bowl menu has "giant" subs ($26 per foot), platters of Taliercio's signature fried ravioli, mini sandwiches, antipasto, Buffalo wings and cold cuts, and a package with a three-foot sandwich, baked ziti, sausage and peppers, wings, meatballs, macaroni salad, potato salad and coleslaw ($299).
