Do you want to watch "Dune: Part Two" early in Columbus?

In the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2021 box-office hit "Dune," stars Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya return as Chalamet's character, Paul Atreides, must avenge his family's destruction in the war for control over the deadly desert planet Arrakis. In this new movie, Atreides faces a choice between the love of his life, Chani, (Zendaya), and the fate of the universe.

The two-part adaptation is based off the 1965 novel "Dune" by Frank Herbert.

When does 'Dune: Part Two' come out?

"Dune: Part Two" will hit theaters on March 1, with an early IMAX screening in some select theaters beginning Feb. 25.

The long-awaited world premiere happened in London on Feb. 15, according to Reuters. Chalamet, Zendaya, and cast newcomers such as Butler, Pugh and Seydoux attended the debut.

Where is 'Dune: Part Two' playing early near Columbus?

Those in central Ohio can catch "Dune: Part Two" on IMAX early at 7 p.m. showings at the following theaters:

  • AMC Grove City 14 (in Grove City)

  • AMC Dine-in Easton Town Center 30 (Easton Town Center)

Why was the movie's release date delayed?

The film was supposed to reach audiences in November 2023, but was delayed due to last year's SAG-AFTRA strike, dubbed the longest actors' strike in Hollywood history. Producers of the "Dune" sequel wanted stars Zendaya and Chalamet to be able to promote the film freely, without the restrictions the strike maintained against promoting projects.

Initially, the film's release was reportedly pushed to March 15, 2024, but the official release date will roll around a bit earlier.

Is 'Dune: Part Two' streaming anywhere?

"Dune: Part Two" is not yet streaming anywhere, but those with a Netflix or Max subscription can stream "Dune" now.
