Here's when the Rountree Halloween Parade is, and other trick-or-treating festivities
Halloween is a week away but spooky festivities start days before, with indoor and outdoor trunk-or-treat events held throughout the city.
The annual Rountree Halloween Parade kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Halloween at the intersection of Weller Avenue and Delmar Street. Children and their families are encouraged to join in the parade, which disperses at Madison Street, where folks begin to trick-or-treat on their own. The parade is hosted by the Rountree Elementary School fifth-graders and Parkview Lassies Drum & Bugle Corps.
In addition to festivities on All Hallows' Eve, there are plenty of other businesses, organizations and churches hosting events throughout the weekend before Halloween.
OTC Trunk-or-Treat
When: Thursday, Oct. 26 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Where: Ozarks Technical Community College at 935 E. Brower St.
Ozarks Technical Community College's trunk-or-treating event will be held in parking lot M on the south side of campus between Chestnut Street and Chestnut Expressway.
Air Services Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical Trunk-or-Treat
When: Thursday, Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m.
Where: Air Services Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical at 2145 W. Sunset St.
Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center Trunk-or-Treat
When: Thursday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m.
Where: Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at 2800 S. Fort Ave.
During the Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center's trunk-or-treating event, free hot dogs will be served to the first 100 kids.
Track-or-Treat
When: Friday, Oct. 27 from 4-10 p.m.
Where: Hammons Field at 937 E. Trafficway St.
Mediacom's annual Track-or-Treat event will feature a free haunted house, on-field movie screening and performances from the C-Street Zombie Corps.
In order to participate in trick-or-treating, families must register online to secure a 15-minute time slot. Trick-or-treating will be held on the field warning track. Registration only needs to be made for children ages 12 and under; accompanying adults don't need to register. Free registration is available on the Springfield Cardinals' website.
The free haunted house will be inside the training facility and will run from 6-10 p.m. Registration is not required. A screening of "Hocus Pocus" will begin at 8:30 p.m. on the Hammons Field video board. The C-Street Zombie Corps will perform on the field at 7:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
Boo at the Bin
When: Friday, Oct. 27 from 5-7 p.m.
Where: Lone Pine Recycling Center at 3020 S. Lone Pine Ave.
Springfield Environmental Services' "trash-or-treat" event will feature candy and recycling trivia. The recycling center will be closed to recycling drop-off during the event.
Hayden Machinery Bucket-o-Treats
When: Friday, Oct. 27 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Where: Hayden Machinery at 4358 Livery Lane
Hayden Machinery's Bucket-o-Treats will feature candy, games and an opportunity for children to check out heavy construction equipment up close.
SBU Fall Festival Trunk-or-Treat
When: Friday, Oct. 27 at 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Where: Southwest Baptist University College of Health Professions at 1265 E. Lark St.
The Southwest Baptist University College of Health Professions Springfield campus is hosting a free trunk-or-treating event both for families and students interested in pursuing nursing.
Gray Elementary Trunk-or-Treat
When: Friday, Oct. 27 from 6-7:30 p.m.
Where: Gray Elementary School at 2101 W. Farm Road 182
Gray Elementary School's trunk-or-treating event is free for all Gray Elementary students and their families. Registration is required, which is available online. The County Line Farm Tea Truck will be on-site serving hot chocolate and specialty-flavored teas.
Fina's Market Trick-or-Treat
When: Friday, Oct. 27 from 6-8 p.m.
Where: Fina's Market at 1635 W. Walnut St.
During the indoor trick-or-treating event at Fina's Market, vendors will be dress up on-site, handing out candy at their various booths. Event discounts will also be available.
Fina's Market is a 6,300-square-foot vendor's market attached to the Route 66 Car Museum. The space is laid out similarly to a farmer's market with more than 80 individual booths featuring handmade goods from local artists. Fina's Market opened in May.

Trick-or-Treating at Hy-Vee
When: Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Hy-Vees at 2150 E. Sunshine St. and 1720 W. Battlefield Road
Both Springfield Hy-Vee locations are hosting trick-or-treating through the stores with kid-friendly activities available inside. Children are encouraged to wear their costumes.
Trick Art Treat
When: Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon
Where: Springfield Art Museum at 1081 E. Brookside Drive
The Springfield Art Museum's Trick Art Treat is a free, family-friendly event. Art projects and photo ops will be scattered throughout the museum's galleries. Costumes are not required but are encouraged. No candy will be exchanged during the event.
Boo Bash at Battlefield Mall
When: Saturday, Oct. 28 from 1-3 p.m.
Where: Battlefield Mall at 2825 S. Glenstone Ave.
Battlefield Mall and Sylvan Learning of Springfield are hosting a Halloween-themed party throughout the entire mall. The event kicks off at the JCP East Court, where children will receive goodie bags. Participating retailers will be handing out candy, coupons and promotional materials. Children may also participate in the Boo Bash Dash, a stamp-and-shop scavenger hunt-style game. Participants who collect all required stamps can exchange their card for a Boo Bash cup, and some contain $25 gift cards.

Halloween at Wonders of Wildlife
When: Saturday, Oct. 28 from 2-6 p.m.
Where: Wonders of Wildlife at 500 W. Sunshine St.
Admission to Halloween at Wonders of Wildlife is valid with admission to the aquarium and museum. Wonders of Wildlife will host family-friendly activities, educational stories and of course, hand out candy.
Pathways United Methodist Church Trunk-or-Treat
When: Saturday, Oct. 28 from 4-5 p.m.
Where: Pathways United Methodist Church at 1232 E. Dale St.
Sunset Church of Christ Trunk-or-Treat
When: Saturday, Oc. 28 from 4-6 p.m.
Where: Sunset Church of Christ at 1222 W. Sunset St.
Sunset Church of Christ's trunk-or-treat will start on Sunset Street and end on Fort Avenue.
Rainbow Kids Trunk-or-Treat
When: Saturday, Oct. 28 from 4-6 p.m.
Where: The GLO Center at 518 E. Commercial St.
The GLO Center is hosting a trunk-or-treat for LGBTQ youth. Children age 5 through 11 are encouraged to dress up and attend the event with their guardians, siblings and friends. Thrive Martial Arts' Trunk-or-Treat
When: Saturday, Oct. 28 from 5-8 p.m.
Where: Thrive Martial Arts at 1721 E. Sunshine St.
Thrive Martial Arts' trunk-or-treating event will feature candy and snacks, board breaking games, hot cocoa and apple cider, cotton candy, a prize wheel and karate demonstration.
Old Time Pottery Trunk-or-Treat
When: Saturday, Oct. 28 from 5:30-8 p.m.
Where: Old Time Pottery at 1535 E. Battlefield Road
Solomon Lodge Trunk-or-Treat
When: Saturday, Oct. 28 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Where: Masonic York Rite Temple at 1930 W. Catalpa St.
Candy, apple cider, hot cocoa and music will be featured at the Solomon Lodge Trunk-or-Treat.
Sensory Safe Trick-or-Treat
When: Sunday, Oct. 29 at 3 p.m.
Where: Abou Ben Adhem Shrine at 601 E. St. Louis St.
TheraCare's sensory-safe trick-or-treating will be held inside the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine. Free registration is required, as families will be assigned trick-or-treating time slots to reduce sensory stimulation. Candy and non-candy options will be available.
First Unitarian Universalist Church Trunk-or-Treat
When: Sunday, Oct. 29 from 4-6 p.m.
Where: First Unitarian Universalist Church at 2434 E. Battlefield Road
First Unitarian Universalist Church will serve allergy-friendly candy and non-candy food items during its trunk-or-treating event.
Christ Episcopal Church Trunk-or-Treat
When: Sunday, Oct. 29 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Where: Christ Episcopal Church at 601 E. Walnut St.
Wesley Church's Fall Festival
When: Sunday, Oct. 29 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Where: Wesley Church at 922 W. Republic Road
Wesley Church's fall festival will feature indoor trick-or-treating, games, pumpkin painting, s'mores and bounce houses.
Community Candy Climb at Zenith
When: Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 4:30-6 p.m.
Where: Zenith Climbing Center at 3534 E. Sunshine St. Suite 3
Zenith Climbing Center is offering $5 climbs on Halloween night, which includes rental gear and belayers. Typically, adult passes are $17 and youth passes are $13. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
Wheeler Heart and Vascular Center Trunk-or-Treat
When: Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m.
Where: Wheeler Heart and Vascular Center Parking Garage at 1202 E. Primrose St.
A private pre-event for parents and children with special needs will be held between 4:30-5 p.m.
Uplift Massage & Spa Indoor Trick-or-Treat
When: Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 5:30-9 p.m.
Where: Uplift Massage & Spa at 4650 S. National Ave.
Redeemer Lutheran Church Trunk-or-Treat
When: Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m.

Northside Christian Church's trunk-or-treating event will feature candy, inflatables, hot dogs, popcorn and crafts.
