With Beyoncé entering her country era, Kelly Rowland her acting and producing era, and Michelle Williams in her theater era—it would be smart to think a Destiny’s Child reunion between the three singers has a slim chance of happening.

But that doesn’t seem to be the case for Bey’s father Matthew Knowles who, on Monday, decided to highlight the three ladies to commemorate Women’s History Month in a post to social media and put forth the idea that while the three “retired on top”—he hopes they hit the stage together again soon.

“Dear Destiny’s Child, It is hard to believe that it has been almost 25 years since we began this journey this June. You were just young teenagers with a dream to be the best in the world and you accomplished your dream. I thank you for your trust that you gave me to help create and facilitate your amazing journey,” he began in his post on X/Twitter. “I want to acknowledge all the many young artists and dancers from Girls Tyme to Destiny’s Child who were in some way part of the journey as well as the former managers who were there with Girls Tyme before me. Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle, on this Women’s Month, I wanted to take a moment to express my admiration for the incredible talent, hard work, and dedication that each of you have poured into your craft.”

He went on to celebrate the group’s “relentless pursuit of excellence,” empowering music, harmonies and performances that have “left an indelible mark on the music industry and beyond.”Before wrapping, he also expressed his desire for the beloved girl group to “come out of retirement.” (Wow, dads, they’re just like us!)

“Thank you, Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle, for your music, your talent, and your unyielding spirit. You are truly legendary. Many have gotten it wrong that Destiny’s Child broke up. No, you were smarter than that and you always knew that one day Destiny’s Child would retire on top!! Hopefully, one day you come out of retirement!” he said.

Naturally, the latter part of his speech caused a tizzy on X/Twitter, with many fans and followers trying to decipher its meaning.

“Now what does this mean?” wrote one fan.

“’Hopefully one day you come out of retirement.’ What do you know**about that?” questioned another.

“I’m not playing, I need them to come back for act 3,” said another fan, referencing the third act of Bey’s project that’s yet to be announced.

Now, I don’t want mean to be a Debbie Downer here, but Kelly herself has already kind of shut down the possibility of a DC3 project or reunion of sorts coming. But maybe, just maybe, Matthew can work his magic and get the girls to come together for one last hurrah. Fingers crossed!
