Here's list of July 4 fireworks, events in Seacoast NH and southern Maine for 2023

Cities and towns in Seacoast New Hampshire and southern Maine have announced plans for fireworks and other celebrations to honor Independence Day. Below is an alphabetical list of each community's events:

Brentwood

Parade starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 4 at the town highway shed.

Dover

Fireworks will shoot off simultaneously from Garrison Hill and Maglaras Park on Tuesday, July 4, beginning at dusk, around 9:15 p.m. Henry Law Park and the surrounding downtown areas are the best locations to view the fireworks. The fireworks display will be preceded by a performance of the 39th Army Band at the Rotary Arts Pavilion from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. Food and novelty vendors will be available at Henry Law Park. Rain date for the fireworks display only is Wednesday, July 5.

Exeter

The American Independence Festival, put on by the American Independence Museum, will be held Saturday, July 15, in downtown Exeter. The event features vendors, music and a special Revolutionary War period re-enactment. It concludes with a concert and fireworks on Swasey Parkway at 9:15 p.m. On display during the day is one of the few original existing copies of the Declaration of Independence. Free for all ages.

Hampton Beach

Fireworks will be held at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 4 on the beach at the top of B and C Streets.

Kennebunk, Maine

A traditional fireworks display will be held on Tuesday, July 4 at 9 p.m. at Gooch's Beach.

Milton Mills

The Milton Mills Town parade will step off at a.m. at the Milton Free Public Library, 13 Main Street.

Ogunquit, Maine

Fireworks will be on Tuesday, July 4, at at 9:15 p.m. Rain date: July 5.

Portsmouth

Due to projected inclement weather, Portsmouth has moved its fireworks display to July 5.

Due to the forecasted high probability of persistent thunderstorms on Monday, July 3, the City activated the rain plan on July 1. Fireworks and family events at Leary Field will take place on Wednesday, July 5, starting at 3:30 pm.

Parking bans on surrounding streets go into effect at 12 noon on July 5. Parrott Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 7 pm on July 5 and Junkins Ave. will be closed to vehicles starting at 8 pm.

The City of Portsmouth and Wilcox Industries present the annual fireworks display on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at the South Mill Pond across from the Portsmouth City Hall beginning at 9:15 pm. This celebration is an alcohol-free, family-friendly event.

Rochester

The Lilac Family Fun Festival will take place at Spaulding High School and the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center on Saturday, July 8 from 4 to 9 p.m. (Rain date Sunday, July 9 from 4 to 9 p.m.) There will be free kiddie carnival rides for young children, games, food trucks, local vendors, family-friendly activities and live entertainment. The night concludes with the fireworks show at 9 p.m.

Rye

The town and its Recreation Department will hold a Fourth of July celebration for residents and community members. The event will include live music by Jimmy and the Bar-Hoppers, games, and food provided by the Big Bad Food Truck and Northeast Ice Cream. Fireworks will be held on Friday, June 30 at 9 p.m. at Parsons Field.

Sanford, Maine

Sanford will have a Block Party at Number One Pond on Monday, July 3 from 4 to 10 p.m. Fireworks will take launch at 9 p.m. There will be a Fourth of July Parade on Tuesday, July 4, down Main Street starting at 10 a.m. at Malcolm Ave. ending at Gowen Park.

York, Maine

Fireworks will be held on Short Sands Beach, on Tuesday, July 4, at 9 p.m. Arrive early for parking. Parking is metered.
