Actor Yvette Nicole Brown of "Community" and "Big Shot" joined Television Academy Chairman and CEO Frank Scherma to announce this year's Emmy nominations on Wednesday morning. The announcement streamed live at Emmys.com and on the Television Academy’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Heavy favorites such as "Succession" (27 nods), "The Crown," "Better Call Saul," "Abbott Elementary," "Yellowjackets," "Barry" and "Ted Lasso" continued to dominate the nominations. "The White Lotus" (23) showed no signs of slowing down despite moving from limited series to drama. And newcomers such as "The Bear," "House of the Dragon," "Andor" and "The Last of Us" (24 noms, second overall) also staked their claims, each getting a series nomination.

Pedro Pascal earned three noms, including becoming only the second Latino performer ever to receive a nod as lead actor in a drama series. "Succession," "The White Lotus" and "The Last of Us" combined to dominate the drama acting categories, but will the three leads picked from "Succession" open the door for Pascal — or for Bob Odenkirk to collect the only Emmy in "Better Call Saul's" history? We'll have to wait for the awards ceremony, scheduled for Sept. 18, to find out.
