Here's what you should know ahead of the 41st annual Whole Enchilada Softball Invitational

Thousands of team members and fans from across the country will descend upon Las Cruces this weekend for the 41st annual United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Whole Enchilada Softball Invitational.

This year, the slowpitch softball tournament will be held Friday, Oct. 6 through Sunday, Oct. 8. The event is known for hosting back-to-back games for 48 straight hours.

The first 250 teams to register are accepted into the tournament. Competition divisions include Men’s Championship, Men’s D/E, Women’s Championship and Women’s D/E.

Awards for first through fourth teams and individuals will be handed out at the end of the tournament, as well as an MVP award each game.

Games will take place at either the Apodaca Park baseball/softball fields, located at 801 E. Madrid Ave., or the Maag Ballfield Complex, located at 1500 E. Hadley Ave.

Games begin Friday at 5 p.m. A full schedule of matchups is available online at usssa.com/slowpitch/event. Members of the public are welcome to join the tournament as spectators.
