Henry Winkler didn’t get no satisfaction during awkward meeting with Mick Jagger

Henry Winkler dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Wednesday, just a day after earning another Emmy nomination for his performance in the HBO series Barry. And he shared with guest-host Anthony Anderson one of the most awkward times he became starstruck.

“I was in a restaurant, and I walked up to Mick Jagger and I said, ‘Hello, I'm Henry Winkler and I have all of your albums,’” Winkler recalled.

Jagger is of course the legendary frontman for the Rolling Stones, but when Winkler met him, he didn’t get no satisfaction. Despite playing iconic cool guy Arthur Fonzarelli on Happy Days, Jagger treated the actor like a beast of burden and blew him off.

While the interaction was embarrassing, at least he learned a valuable lesson: You can’t always get what you want.

“I slunk out of the restaurant,” recalled Winkler. He told the rock star, “‘I am so sorry. I didn't mean to disturb you. Enjoy the sushi. It was such a pleasure. I love your outfit.’”
