Henry Cavill Steps Out With Teenage Girlfriend Amid Breakup Rumors

For a little while it seemed we’d all jumped the gun on this one. In the midst of a flurry of breakup rumors, Henry Cavill stepped out with Tara King to take part in a charity run on the British isle of Jersey, where he grew up — and they still looked very much the couple indeed. The 33-year-old actor and 19-year-old student were all smiles as they participated in the Durrell Wildlife Challenge, a 13-kilometer race that raises funds for a conservation trust Cavill actively supports.

According to reports, King’s father and some members of Cavill’s family were also there to lend their support, and everyone “happily” chatted.

Despite the friendly outing, Us Weekly reports that the two are indeed split, citing multiple sources. “She was in too deep and he didn’t want anything too serious. He has a lot going on right now,” a source tells Us. “They’ll remain good friends, but it just wasn’t meant to be. No fight, just not meant to be.”

This wasn’t the first time rumors of a breakup had surfaced about this couple since they first went public with their romance last fall, when they were spotted together at a soccer match at Twickenham Stadium in London.

In February, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hunk had the teen beauty on his arm at Vanity Fair’s annual Oscar party in Beverly Hills (though he attended the ceremony solo). King sported a fitted orange frock for the occasion and seemed to fit right in with Hollywood’s elite.

Additionally, Cavill has been openly explaining that he didn’t think the 13-year-plus age difference was anything to get excited about. “People say, ‘Age is just a number.’ A lot of times it’s not just a number. It’s actually a real and true sign of someone’s maturity,” he conceded to Elle UK in February. “But in this case, she’s fantastic.” He also added that the age split can go both ways. “It’s a natural reaction, but when I was 19, I was going out with a 32-year-old,” he revealed.

Cavill also made it clear that just because he’s the Man of Steel hardly means he no longer has nerves when it comes to dating. “When I first met my girlfriend, I was super intimidated,” he confessed. “I wanted to impress her. I was thinking, 'Don’t mess this up, man. You’ve got to play your cards exactly right.’”

Before linking up with the Bristol University student, Cavill was attached to women from the entertainment field, having dating mixed-martial-arts fighter turned actress Gina Carano and The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco.
