‘Hell on Wheels’ Sneak Peek: Things Are About to Go Boom

If you’ve enjoyed the momentum Hell on Wheels has had since it returned for its final episodes earlier this month, you’ll be happy to hear it continues in Saturday’s episode, “61 Degrees.” Bohannon (Anson Mount) is ready to get serious about the railroads’ race to Ogden.

As you’ll see in the exclusive clip above, he has ordered some nitroglycerin to help the crews blast their way through the Sierras. Reg (James Strobridge) is understandably not that enthused about working with the explosive again, but for viewers who know the principle of Chekhov’s gun — paraphrased: If you show a gun, it has to go off — it adds a fun bit of tension. (Plus, the nitro features prominently in a scene that some may not see coming but will likely rewind.)
