Tonight on “Hell’s Kitchen,” the infamous blind food taste test returns with a new out-of-this-world challenge. During dinner service, problems with scallops and soufflés reveal the differences between leaders and losers. The pressure is on in the kitchen for dinner service as the chefs serve stars such as former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, actresses Rosanna Arquette and Emily Tosta, as well as actor Greg Germann in a charity night supporting The People Concern and Teen Cancer America. This all new “A Hellish Food Fight” episode of “Hell’s Kitchen” airs Thursday, December 14 (8:00 PM – 9:01 PM) on FOX.

Season 22 started with 18 contestants competing for the $250,000 grand prize and a head chef position at Gordon Ramsay‘s Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas. Below are the current team breakdowns. View the complete gallery of this season’s contestants and their elimination order above.

8:00 p.m. — “Previously on ‘Hell’s Kitchen’!” In the episode 10, the chefs competed in a balance-themed challenge while trying to impress guest judge Chef Evan Funke with four signature pasta dishes. Following dinner service, Gordon decided to eliminate Atoye from the Blue Team, remarking about the 35-year old from Maryland, “Atoye’s passion was admirable, but you need more than just passion to be a great head chef.” Who will be eliminated next?

8:05 p.m. — After the chefs head back up to the dorms, Sammi and Leigh whisper about Donya and Carmen being the Red Team’s weak links. The next morning everyone heads back down to the kitchen where there’s a rocket ship and all sorts of NASA gear. Gordon has them all taste space food before thrusting a handful of food on Marino’s face. This starts an epic food fight! Everyone begins to engage, making a mess out of the kitchen and themselves. Now that they’ve had a little fun, Gordon says he hopes their palates are warmed up, because they’re about to blast off. It’s time for the blind taste test!

8:20 p.m. — For every two wrong answers in this blind taste test, a teammate will be drenched in Milky Way milk. Yuck! If they get three wrong they’ll be hit with a big bang of stardust sprinkles. Once they good four wrong they’ll be finished off with moon cheese. Here are how things played out:

  • Gordon feeds Carmen and Ryan mushrooms. Carmen says it’s cauliflower and Ryan calls it an onion. Next he gives them a bell pepper. Both nail it. Next is pineapple. Carmen thinks it’s an apple, but Ryan gets it right. Sammi has been doused in milk. The fourth item is corn. Carmen says polenta while Ryan guesses turnip. Johnathan is now covered in milk while Sammi gets sprinkles. This round finishes with the Blue Team up 2-1.

  • Next up it’s Jason vs. Donya, while Carmen and Ryan sit in the hot seat. Gordon feeds them asparagus. Donya guesses zucchini and Jason says it’s peas. Then it’s shrimp. Donya nails it, but Jason thinks it’s calamari. Ryan is drenched in milk. The third test is tomato. They’re both right on this one. Last up is squash puree. Donya thinks it’s potato and Jason says sweet potato. The score is now tied 3-3.

  • It’s Leigh vs. Dahmere now and Gordon gives them parsnips. Leigh thinks it’s banana and Dahmere guesses pickled cauliflower. Next it’s strawberries. Leigh guesses correctly, but Dahmere thinks it’s mango. Jason gets a bucked of milk dumped on him. When Gordon feeds them cucumber both are correct. Last up is beef. Dahmere is correct, but Leigh thinks it’s turkey. The score is 5-5.

  • Last up it’s Sammi vs. Johnathan. When fed salmon, they each guess the wrong fish — tuna and halibut, respectively. Will they know bacon? No. They guess turkey and ham. When fed peanuts, Sammi guesses celery (!!) and Johnathan gets it right. Last it’s kalamata olives. Sammi thinks it’s kohlrabi – so she went 0 – 4 in this challenge. A bold failure for someone who was just calling out Donya and Carmen for being weak in challenges. Johnathan gets it right and the Blue Team has won.

The Blue Team wins the challenge 7-5. Gordon sends the men on a chef’s shopping spree with $4,000 in their pockets. The Red Team will clean up the mess they’ve just made in the dining room.

8:30 p.m. — With the reward and punishment over, it’s time to open Hell’s Kitchen for dinner service. It’s a special charity night and both teams are getting up to date on the menu. The Blue Team is cooking for The People Concer, L.A.’a largest housing and social service agency. The Red Team will cook for Teen Cancer America, the only charity that is focused on teens and young adults. The charities are represented by actor Greg Germann and actress Rosanna Arquette, respectively. For the first time this season, each chef will be responsible for their own course. It’s a five-course menu featuring potato gnocchi (led by Carmen and Jason), pan-seared scallops (led by Leigh and Johnathan), Chilean sea bass (led by Sammi and Dahmere), filet mignon (led by Donya and Ryan) and raspberry soufflé (led again by Carmen and Jason). Let’s go!

8:35 p.m. — Gordon criticizes Jason for not using his voice. Jason’s excuse is that he doesn’t like to micromanage people. Over on the Red Team, Leigh calls Carmen’s management style “frantic.” Gordon sends back the first round of gnocchi the Blue Team puts up because it’s overcooked. Nobody admits to burning it. The Red Team completes theirs with no major issues. Jason gets his gnocchi out in the second pass and diners seem pleased. Time for the second course. Thanks to Leigh’s leadership, the Red Team quickly completes their scallops. In the Blue kitchen the scallops “look like garbage.”

8:45 p.m. — Johnathan is furious that his course has been derailed and he blames Jason. It finally gets complete and Dahmere hopes he can pull the Blue Team back together with this third course. He has continuously proven he’s a great leader and does so again tonight. Both he and Sammi knock the sea bass course out in one try. For the fourth course, Gordon tells Donya and Ryan it’s not a race. He wants quality filet mignon. Donya sends up raw meat for the Red Team, but Ryan is looking great on the Blue Team. Donya knocks it out on her second try and it’s time for the final course. Jason makes a mistake and throws chefs Cristina and Jason under the bus. Gordon immediately calls them over and Cristina denies Jason’s accusation that she told him to put ribbons of egg white over the soufflé. Jason is adamant Cristina didn’t show him how to do it properly.

8:55 p.m. — Over on the Red Team Sammi complains that Carmen doesn’t delegate strong enough. According to her, Carmen constantly questions herself. That being said, the Red Team’s soufflés come out perfectly while the Blue Team have many that have deflated. They’ll have to work with what they have. Dinner service is officially over! Gordon says he was expecting more leadership across all courses. He says neither team wins and both will have to come back with one nominee they consider the weakest leader on their team.

9:01 p.m. — After some uncomfortable debates up in the dorms, both teams return to face Gordon. The Blue Team nominates Jason and the Red Team nominates Donya. Both explain to Gordon why they should remain in Hell’s Kitchen. Gordon decides to eliminate Donya, stating, “Donya had the drive, voice and was a great cook. But, I’m not looking for a great cook, I need a great chef.”
