Helen Mirren appears for ‘Tonight Show’ Zoom interview in her bubble bath

Actress Helen Mirren may have made history on Thursday, when she surprised host Jimmy Fallon from her bathtub during The Tonight Show. She was there to promote the latest movie from Fast and Furious, and did so by keeping things relaxed and bubbly.

“I’m in my favorite place in the world,” Mirren said. “That's the brilliant thing about Zoom. I was thinking, you know, why not be in the place that you love to sit and chat to people?”

And while Fallon could only say that Mirren “might be” the first guest ever to be in a bathtub on The Tonight Show, fans on Twitter were shocked at what they saw, and they loved it. Saying things like, “We’re not worthy” and, “You might be cool but are you cooler than Helen Mirren being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon in a bathtub on The Tonight Show?”

HELEN MIRREN: That's the brilliant thing about Zoom. I was thinking, you know, why not be in the place that you love to sit and chat to people. I love having a chat to my husband while I'm sitting in the bath. So why not do it to the whole of America?

JIMMY FALLON: Yeah. Very smart. Why not?

KYLIE MAR: And while Jimmy Fallon was pretty sure she's the first guest ever to be in a bathtub on The Tonight Show, fans on Twitter were shocked at what they saw and they loved it. Saying things like, Helen Mirren like a rock star and a queen doing Fallon from the bath. We're not worthy. And you might be cool, but are you cooler than Helen Mirren being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon in a bathtub on The Tonight Show?

Although, as Helen quickly learned, bubbles don't last forever. But knowing how to make the perfect segue way to promote your movie does.

HELEN MIRREN: I'm running out of bubbles. That's the problem.

You know, you were chatting away and I was waiting and my bubbles were going down.

JIMMY FALLON: I'll make the interview very fast then. Yeah.

HELEN MIRREN: Fast, please. Yes.

JIMMY FALLON: Of course.
