AMANDA LACOUNT: I've been told my whole life I'm too big to dance and I don't the right body type--

SIMON COWELL: Who told you that?

AMANDA LACOUNT: --to be a professional. Um, anyone you can think of. I've had strangers, parents--

SIMON COWELL: All right, well, tell them to shut up. They don't know what they're talking about.

SOFIA VERGARA: [LAUGHS]

TERRY CREWS: That's right.

[MUSIC - Todrick Hall, "Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels"]

- (SINGING) Woo, girl, I don't dance, I work. I don't play, I slay. I don't walk, I strut, strut, strut, and then sashay, OK.

[BUZZER SOUND]

- What?

[BOOING]

KYLIE MAR: Fans were shocked and outraged that judge Heidi Klum buzzed her mid-performance, with one fan tweeting, "Appalled tonight at Heidi Klum for body shaming and buzzing off Amanda LaCount because of her size. Fire her now!" While another wrote, "The fat phobia is real with people talking about Amanda LaCount. She can dance!"

Luckily for Amanda, Simon Cowell did not agree with his fellow judge.

SIMON COWELL: For me, I loved every moment of the audition.

[MUSIC PLAYING - Alessia Cara, "Scars to Your Beautiful"]

(SINGING) There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark.

SIMON COWELL: Your joy and enthusiasm were so contagious. You're memorable! Look, this is why we have four people on a panel.

KYLIE MAR: With the judges split on whether Amanda should advance, the audience convinced Howie Mandel to change his vote to a yes.

AMANDA LACOUNT: I think that's the most important thing. As long as I have the audience's approval, that's what my heart the happiest.

KYLIE MAR: And while Amanda basked in the audience's love, Heidi basked in their boos.

[BOOING]

HEIDI KLUM: It's the scariest thing when you have, like, thousands of people boo at you.
