Heather Rae El Moussa Says She 'Got Her Feet Wet' as Stepmom to Taylor and Brayden Before Welcoming Son Tristan

"All 3 of the kids have made me a better person in different ways," the 'Selling Sunset' star wrote on Instagram

Heather Rae El Moussa is reflecting on being a mom.

On Tuesday, the Selling Sunset star, 36, took to Instagram to share some sweet words about her 14-month-old son Tristan whom she shares with Tarek El Moussa, along with her stepkids Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8, whom Tarek shares with his ex-wife Christina Hall.

"All 3 of the kids have made me a better person in different ways. I got my feet wet with Tay & Bray & then Tristan’s sweet soul chose me to be his mama." Heather captioned her photo dump.

"The kids have given me different perspective of life. There is a different purpose when you become a mother, you think different, you feel different," she continued. " Life is more fun, but scary, I worry about things I’ve never worried about before. It’s chaotic but it’s beautiful chaos. I barely rest, I never have lazy days. Some days I miss that. But the alternative is SO much better. 🤍"

In the post, Heather also gave an update on Tristan. She revealed that the little one can now say the words "mama," "dada" and "dog." She also shared that he's taken two steps, but he's not quite walking yet.

She added, "He gives kisses & hugs. He loves being outside. He’s so sweet but strong willed. He loves pacis and drinking water. 😊"

The Instagram post also included a photo Heather previously shared on her Instagram Story on Sunday. The pic featured her and Tristan donning matching olive green outfits. Aside from the color-coordinated mirror selfie, Heather also shared pictures of Tristan crawling on the beach, sitting on the floor with a red Gucci backpack on and a video kissing of him kissing his mom.

Back in November 2023, Heather shared pictures from the family's first Thanksgiving as a family of five. In a professional family portrait, Heather held onto Taylor's arm as she carried Tristan, while Tarek placed his arm around Brayden. The family wore matching black outfits in front of a brown backdrop.

"We have so much to be thankful for this year but above everything, we’re thankful for the health & happiness of our family and friends," the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post. "Today is special because not only do we get to be around family but we get the chance to take a moment and reflect on the beautiful life we’ve created."

"Grateful is an understatement," he added in the caption. "We hope you’re all having a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! 🤍 Love The El Moussas."
