Heather Locklear says she's 'so grateful' to be sober ahead of 30-day treatment program

Heather Locklear is letting everyone know that she's "still sober" in the midst of her continued legal troubles.

The "Melrose Place" alum, 57, took to Instagram Tuesday to share her first post since pleading no contest last week to eight misdemeanor charges of battery and resisting officers.

She posted a picture of an assortment of items, including an inspirational notebook cover that reads, "You’re still sober. Keep that (expletive) up." The photo also included a finger painting that says "Mom" and a picture of her beloved Maltese dog, Mister.

"So grateful," she captioned the snapshot, adding the prayer hands emoji.

Her post comes less than a week after she was sentenced to a 30-day treatment program in her battery case. If Locklear doesn't complete the program, a judge said she will have to serve a 120-day jail sentence.

Locklear was charged with five misdemeanor counts of battery on a peace officer, two counts of resisting an officer and one count of battery on an emergency medical technician over two confrontations at her California home in February and June of 2018.

The February encounter reportedly grew out of a disturbance between Locklear and her boyfriend, and resulted in five of the misdemeanor charges. During the incident, authorities said, Locklear allegedly threatened to shoot deputies if they returned to her house.

The other three offenses, including the battery on an EMT, were allegedly committed after deputies were called about a disturbance at Locklear’s home in June. As in February, authorities said she became combative.

Locklear initially pleaded not guilty to the charges before pleading no contest Friday.

Heather Locklear was arrested Feb. 25, 2018, at her home. Another incident in June 2018 resulted in more charges against the actress.

During the hearing, her attorney, Bill Haney, said Locklear was suffering from an illness at the time of the incidents and was going through a "personal crisis."

Many people are concerned for Locklear, but she is doing much better now, Haney said, adding, "she’s apologetic to the first responders who were present."

Locklear got some support from her celebrity friends on her latest Instagram post, including "Melrose Place" co-star Lisa Rinna, who left a prayer hand emoji and heart emoji.
