In a TV comeback that will be welcomed by many fans, Heather Locklear is making a big move this year. The 62-year-old actress isn’t doing it alone either, she’s reportedly bringing friends Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton along for the ride in a reboot of the ’90s soapy drama, Melrose Place

Entertainment Tonight confirmed the news that CBS Studios is working hard to bring back the show that ran on FOX from 1992 to 1999 with some of the OG stars. Here is the premise for the next generation of the series, per the longline obtained by the outlet: “When one of their dearest friends dies suddenly, the OG residents of Melrose Place gather to honor the deceased. But the pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.” Does that mean one of the classic characters from our favorite West Hollywood apartment complex passes away?

While we don’t know who that person might be, having Locklear back as the dastardly Amanda Woodward, along with Leighton as Sydney Andrews, and Zuniga as Jo Reynolds, already makes this must-see TV. For those who weren’t around to see the original series, Melrose Place was a spin-off of the wildly popular Beverly Hills, 90210 show. They were Aaron Spelling’s calling card in the 1990s and the first two seasons of Melrose Place were paired with 90210 on Wednesday nights which meant lots of viewing parties.

The series ran for seven seasons in total with famous faces joining the cast along the way, including Lisa Rinna, Alyssa Milano, Andrew Shue, Marcia Cross, and Jack Wagner. A reboot in 2009 on The CW only lasted for one season. In 2020, some of the cast reunited on a Zoom benefit for The Actors Fund during the pandemic and it was easy to see that the magical camaraderie still existed.

“It was the cast, it was the crew, and it was for the years that we were together and doing so many episodes and two episodes at the same time,” Locklear praised. “We really had to help each other, and it was a really nice group.” It sounds like Locklear was ready for that reboot four years ago — and we can’t wait!
