Heather Graham to Star Off Broadway in Neil LaBute’s Hollywood Comedy

Heather Graham will play a movie star in Neil LaBute’s Off Broadway play “The Money Shot,” the Hollywood comedy getting its world premiere this fall from MCC Theater.

Terry Kinney, who directed LaBute’s “Reasons to Be Pretty” on Broadway, will helm a cast that also includes Callie Thorne (“Necessary Roughness”), Frederick Weller (“Mothers and Sons”) and Gia Crovatin. Weller starred Off Broadway in LaBute’s “Reasons to Be Happy,” while Crovatin appeared in L.A. stagings of both “Pretty” and “Happy.”

The plot of “Money Shot” centers on two fading film stars (Graham and Weller) who try to hold onto their Hollywood heat by starring in a new movie from a buzzy director.

The last time Graham (“Flowers in the Attic”) appeared Off Broadway, she starred in Craig Wright’s 2003 comedy “Recent Tragic Events.”

“The Money Shot” begins previews Sept. 4 ahead of a Sept. 22 opening at the Lucille Lortel Theater in downtown New York.
