Heated Battle Between Past Winners on ‘Survivor’ Premiere

The 34th season premiere of Survivor marked its 500th episode, and some of the show’s most legendary players returned for another shot at the $1 million prize. This season is dubbed Game Changers because everyone who has returned to the show has, in their own way, changed the game of Survivor.

A few of this season’s contestants are previous winners, including Tony Vlachos and the only two-time winner, Sandra Diaz-Twine. And it didn’t take long for there to be a royal battle between the self-proclaimed king and queen. Sandra said, “You know that saying, ‘You’re only the king until the queen arrives?’ I’m here.” The two started off on the right foot as they made an attempt to form an alliance, but once Tony overheard Sandra scheming against him, the line was drawn in the sand.

The king and queen spent the rest of their time trying to gather some loyal subjects, and when they lost an immunity challenge, it was time to find out who was loyal to who at tribal council. It turned out that everyone was loyal to Sandra and Tony got his torch snuffed. On his way out, Sandra had a parting message for Tony, saying, “That’s what you get for plotting against me. That’s what you get, and the queen stays queen.”

Survivor airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
