SOUTH BEND — The “Heartland Ramble Revue” makes a tour stop at 8 p.m. July 8 at Stockroom East, 625 E. Jefferson Blvd., Suite C.

The revue features a well-seasoned group of national songwriters and longtime friends who first met while calling San Francisco home in the 2010s and who are now touring through the heartland performing in unconventional venues and documenting the journey along the way by filming the journey.

The performers include Vince and Jimmy DeWald (Brand New Trash), Nate Porter, Matthew Welde, Matthew Lundquist (Otto & The Moaners), Jack Lorang, and Stefanie Clark Harris.

Now based in Nashville, Tenn., the DeWald brothers are natives of Mishawaka and previously led the San Francisco band Buxter Hoot’n. They’ve described Brand New Trash as “garage folk that is not as polished as Nashville.” Buxter Hoot’n blended blues, rock and Americana.

A native of Illinois who now lives in the Pacific Northwest, Porter has released several albums, including 2022’s “Last of the Classics” and “Deep Sea Fishing.”

A native of New York City who now lives in Nashville, Welde has collaborated with producers such as Oz Fritz and John Agnello and is in the process, since May, of releasing two songs per month from recent studio collaborations with Miranda Lambert guitarist Ethan Ballinger.

Lundquist lives in Bloomington and is the winner of the 2022 John Hartford Memorial Fest Songwriter Challenge. His band, Otto and the Moaners has been his primary vehicle since 2008.

Lorang was born and raised in Lake County, Ill., but has resided for the last decade in Taos, N.M. He has released several albums, including 2022’s “The Narrow Road,” which Porter co-produced.

Before landing in Nashville, Harris traveled the country for a year playing music in booming cities and desert outposts alike. Her Americana singer-songwriter sound roams from country rollick to holy hymnal. She released the EP “Black Diamond” in 2020.

Tickets are $15.
