Many Star Wars fans were overcome with emotion when they tuned into the 'Last Jedi' trailer on Monday night and caught a glimpse of Carrie Fisher in what will be her final role.

But perhaps no one was as affected by the late actress's appearance as her beloved dog Gary Fisher was.

A photo posted on Gary's official Instagram shows the French Bulldog seated in front of a television watching the trailer, completely captivated by a scene involving Leia, one of Fisher's most iconic roles.

"Just watched the new trailer of The Last Jedi and my mom looks more beautiful than ever," the photo's caption reads.

Fisher adopted Gary from her daughter, Billie Lourd, as a service pet to help her manage her bipolar disorder, and the two were practically inseparable throughout the last few years of the actress's life.

"I live for Gary," Lourd told TODAY in an interview prior to her mother's passing. "He was mine first and she actually stole him from me because she fell in love with him."

After Fisher's sudden death in December 2016, there was much speculation over what would happen to Gary.

Although reports initially stated he would return to Lourd's care, he ended up in the loving hands of Fisher's trusted assistant, Corby McCoin.
