Hear Pope Francis' new single
The second single from Pope Francis’ upcoming album, Wake Up!, is here: The Catholic leader just released “Por Qué Sufren los Niños?” (which translates to “Why do the children suffer?”), the follow-up to “Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward!”
Wake Up! artistic director and producer Don Giulio Neroni recently discussed the album with Rolling Stone, saying he “tried to be strongly faithful to the pastoral and personality of Pope Francis: the Pope of dialogue, open doors, hospitality.”
“For this reason, the voice of Pope Francis in Wake Up! dialogues music,” he said. “And contemporary music (rock, pop, Latin, etc.) dialogues with the Christian tradition of sacred hymns.”
