Hear a New Remix of Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘Mockingjay’ Hit, ‘Hanging Tree’

Jennifer Lawrence officially became a pop star when her song from The Hunger Games: MockingJay – Part 1, “The Hanging Tree,” hit the charts with not just a bang but an explosion. For those who love the song, and the actress’s take on it, Yahoo Music is excited to offer up a brand-new remix of the tune exclusively for fans.

The track was mixed by Michael Gazzo, an NYC-based Producer/DJ just recently signed to Universal Republic/Casablanca Records, and, like the original, features vocals from “Katniss” – i.e. Lawrence – herself!

As Gazzo explains, “Hanging Tree” is an iconic ballad. Currently topping the charts in almost every single country, the track was a no brainer when it came to remixing! My take on “Hanging Tree” is much lighter, and listener friendly. Although the nature of the track is dark, I envisioned it uplifting an entire group of people to rise up. To unite.
