More health woes for Travis Barker? Blink-182 cancels more dates, drummer reportedly back in the hospital

Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker reported last week (June 15) on social media that he regretfully would have to bow out of playing drums for some time, due to a serious-sounding bout with blood clots in both of his arms and an infection.

Barker’s health issues led to his band postponing that weekend’s dates for their “Kings of the Weekend” residency at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The drummer was released from a Los Angeles hospital on Monday; however, reports are circulating that he’s not out of the woods and has been readmitted due to further complications with his condition.

According to TMZ, Barker is now being treated not only for blood clots but also for a staph infection (which Barker addressed in his tweet) and cellulitis, which is a skin infection. Blink-182 has posted a notice on social media canceling yet another weekend’s worth of shows, noting that Barker is under doctors’ orders not to play until at least the beginning of July.

A representative for Blink-182 would not confirm to Yahoo Entertainment whether Barker had returned to the hospital and offered no further information on his condition beyond what the band had posted.

Bandmate Mark Hoppus addressed Barker’s health in an interview with Beats 1 on Wednesday but did not give many details, merely saying that he didn’t know what the prognosis of the treatment is yet and that Barker has been “in and out of the doctor’s this week.”

Barker took his mind off his own woes on Monday to offer prayers for the late rapper XXXTentacion, who was shot and died that day. “You were a true artist,” he mourned on Twitter. Barker collaborated with XXXTentacion on the rapper’s sophomore album, ?, which was released in March.
