Hayley Erbert Celebrates Derek Hough's 39th Birthday with Heartfelt Tribute: 'I Love You Beyond Words'

The 'Dancing with the Stars' judge also received some birthday love from his sister Julianne Hough, who called him her "built-in best friend"

As her husband Derek Hough enters a brand new year, Hayley Erbert is making sure he's celebrated on his 39th birthday!

On May 17, Erbert penned a touching tribute on Instagram in honor of her husband. Alongside one of the couple's engagement photos, the professional dancer, 29, opened up about the things she believed made Hough special.

"Today is so very special because it is the day my beautiful husband was brought into this world!" she began in the caption before addressing the Dancing with the Stars alum directly. "Derek, the love and light that you naturally radiate every single day is one of the many things that make you so special."

"I’m endlessly grateful for the person you are and that you chose me to live this crazy, beautiful life alongside you," she added. "I love you beyond words. Happy Birthday, my love! Cheers to your final year in your 30s! 🔥♥️."

Erbert wasn't the only one who paid tribute to Hough on his special day.

His sister, Julianne Hough, shared a video montage that included the two dancing together during rehearsals, the dancer cuddling with his dog and taking a photo with his Emmy award.

"Happy Birthday to my built-in best friend! I couldn’t ask for a better brother. Endlessly grateful to be your little sis…. ♥️," the 35-year-old DWTS host captioned the post.

In a post shared to his own Instagram account, Hough reflected on the 39 years of life he's lived and thanked his loved ones who offered him support and encouraged him to follow his dreams.

"This Little Guy had Big Plans," Hough wrote alongside a slide of images that began with a baby photo. "Thankful for this beautiful life. For all the people who supported, encouraged and inspired that little boy to keep pursuing his dreams. Thank You 🙏🏼."

He continued extending his gratitude, "Thank You for all the difficult times , the road blocks and struggles helping to carve out a stronger version of myself. Thank you for all the love I feel from so many, filling my heart to the brim. I will never take it for granted."

"Thank you for my health and these 39 years living on this stunning planet we get to call home.
Thank You 🙏🏼," Hough concluded.

Erbert's birthday tribute comes shortly after she rejoined Hough on his Symphony of Dance tour in Melbourne, Florida in April, four months after recovering from a traumatic skull surgery. The dancer underwent a craniectomy followed by cranioplasty surgery to "replace a large portion of her skull" that was removed during the first procedure.

Following her return to the stage, Erbert was shown getting emotional in a video on TikTok as she received a standing ovation during her first show back.

"Dance has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and so I'm just really excited to get out there and do what I love and also to see the people that have supported me throughout this entire healing journey," she told PEOPLE at the time.

"I am just so excited to get back out and dance again after having something so traumatic happen," she added.

Hough also raved about his wife, saying: "She's all clear, and we're all just amazed by her and can't wait to go out there and put on a great show and an emotional show."
