Hayden Christensen Says Daughter Briar Rose, 9, Would Rather Watch “Liv and Maddie” Over “Star Wars”

"Every time I bring it up, she's like, 'Let's watch 'Liv and Maddie,' please,' " Christensen joked during a MegaCon panel on Saturday

The force is not with Hayden Christensen's daughter Briar Rose!

During a Star Wars panel at MegaCon in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, the actor — who has played Anakin Skywalker in the hit franchise since 2002 — said the 9-year-old has no interest in the adventure films — and would rather watch a different Disney series.

"She still hasn't seen it," the actor, 42, said with a sigh as the audience laughed and groaned.

"I was dragging my feet for a while, kind of wanting to hold off. But now she's 9 years old and I feel like she's at an appropriate age where I could share it with her."

He continued: "There have been a few times where I've actually offered it up and I've said, 'Sweetheart, would you like to watch Star Wars?' "

But Christensen hasn't had any luck getting her to watch. "There's always something else that she's more interested in," he explained. "We're watching a lot of this show called Liv and Maddie right now, So, every time I bring it up, she's like, 'Let's watch Liv and Maddie, please.' "

The Life as a House star said he hopes Briar becomes interested in the franchise on her own. "I'm waiting on her now," he noted.

Along with enjoying Dove Cameron's sitcom about twins living drastically different lives (which ended in 2017), Christensen's daughter, whom he shares with ex Rachel Bilson, is also a Swiftie.

On her podcast Broad Ideas in August 2023, Bilson, 42, revealed that she took Briar and some of her friends to see Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, and the little girl got mad when her friends danced too much too early and they had to leave before the show was over.

"Briar's friend Aria danced her a-- off to 'I Knew You Were Trouble' — she was feeling it — and then just turned around, sat in her seat and passed out," she said. "Briar wanted to stay until the end, but her two friends were just done. So we left early. Briar was so mad about that. She was so mad."

"For my daughter to see this, I think it's so rad. It's one woman, she writes her own s---, she's really talented and she does it and like, look at what she's done," Bilson added of Swift's tour.
