From haunted houses to trunk-or-treats, here's what to do this Halloween in Sioux Falls

Looking for something spooky to do this Halloween season? Here’s our roundup of Halloween activities for the season, whether you’re looking for scares or just a fun time and some candy.

Haunted Houses in Sioux Falls

The Jaycees Feargrounds: The haunted house, located on the W.H. Lyons Fairgrounds, has been running since 1974, and is the Sioux Falls Jaycees largest fundraiser and volunteer driver.

Dates: Oct. 26, 27, 28, 30 and 31. Tickets go on sale at 6:45 p.m., and the Feargrounds are open from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, from 7 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays, and from 7 to 10 p.m. on Halloween night. Tickets are $17 at the gate or $12 if you buy online. Ticket sales are cut off anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour before closing.

Terror 29 Haunted House: Now in its third year, this abandoned warehouse that transforms into “a circus freak show” also sells products including Annabelle and Chucky dolls.

Dates: Oct. 26, 27, 28 and 31. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased online, with various openings available in the evenings. Located at 1420 East Cedar St. in Brandon.

Twisted Nightmare Haunted House: A fundraiser for the South Dakota Fraternal Order of Police and Feeding South Dakota, this attraction features both a haunted house and an escape room. Tickets for the escape room must be bought online, are $35 and include admission to the haunted house. Tickets for the haunted house only are $20, or $15 with a canned food donation.

Dates: Oct. 26, 27, 28 and 31. Open from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Halloween and from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

Silverstar Haunted Car Wash: The carwash at 57th and Marion will become “Barbie’s Screamhouse” from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 27-30. Tickets are $20 per car for unlimited wash pass members and $25 per car for non-members.

Haunted Heartland County Corn Maze: Visit this haunted corn maze from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 27-28. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children 10 and under. Cash and check only. Be sure to bring flashlights!

Trick-or-treating events in Sioux Falls

Teachwell Solutions will host a sensory-friendly trunk or treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at 714 E. 14th Street.

Peace Lutheran Church will host a trunk or treat from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at 5509 W. 41st St.

Amy Stockberger Real Estate will host a trunk or treat from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 28 at 610 W. 49th St.

Downtown Sioux Falls will have many downtown businesses handing out candy from 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 29.

Sioux Falls Halloween parties, events, Zombie Walk

Great Shots will be hosting a Halloween party from 7 to 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 at .2505 West Benson Road. Great Shots gift cards will be given out by judges to the three costumes deemed the best at the event.

ZooBoo is once again at the Great Plains Zoo, set for 5:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 27, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 28 and 29. The event will have trick-or-treating, a “creepy carousel” and hundred of painted and carved pumpkins. Tickets can be purchased online and are $18 for adults and $14 for children.

The Sioux Falls Zombie Walk will take place in downtown Sioux Falls on Oct. 28, with makeup going from noon to 3 p.m. at the Railroad Center near Remedy Brewing Co. before the parade at 4 p.m. All ages are welcome.

The Old Courthouse Museum will host a Halloween party from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 31, featuring trick-or-treating, a scavenger hunt, crafts and more.

The Empire Mall will host Mall-O-Ween from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 31, with businesses and restaurants handing out candy to trick-or-treaters.
