Haunted houses, spooky trails and lots of treats: Halloween attractions in metro Detroit

You can scare up some fun with friends and family at thrilling Halloween events happening throughout metro Detroit. Ghosts and goblins will be coming to life at these celebrations, some of which run through Nov. 4.

Wayne County

Eloise Asylum

Through Nov. 4 (Friday through Sunday): Walk through two state-of-the-art horror-themed experiences that deliver 35,000 square feet of high-tech horror.

In addition, the Escape the Asylum and Heist attractions will continue to operate.

Skeletons Are Alive

Through Oct. 31: An outdoor public art display in downtown Northville features more than 120 life-size skeletons created by Begonia Brothers of Northville

Visitors are invited to snap pictures with skeletons during the month of October and share on the Downtown Northville Facebook or Instagram pages. When sharing, use hashtag #skeletonsarealive.

Streets of Treats

10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 28: Participants can trick or treat at businesses and treat stations in downtown Northville on Main Street between Wing and Hutton streets and Center Street between East Cady and Dunlap streets at this event presented by the Northville Chamber of Commerce. Free.

Monster's Ball

8 p.m. Oct. 21: This annual celebration will feature DJs, circus performers, stilt walkers, high-wire aerialists, acrobats, illusionists and performers on multiple levels and stages.

It's at the Russel Event Center, 1600 Clay St.. in Detroit. For ages 21 and older. Tickets start at $22.50.

Detroit Halloween Bar Crawl

Oct. 21, 27 and 28: Celebrate Halloween in Detroit's Greektown and Royal Oak where ghostly drinks and ghoulish times await. Tickets start at $25.

The Scream Machine Haunted Attraction

Weekends through Oct. 31: This haunt includes a walk through the Hawthorne Manor and Strach's asylum. There are also two mini-escape rooms to tackle. 25710 Northline Road in Taylor. Tickets start at $27.

Deranged Haunted Attraction

Through Oct. 31: Five acres of frightening fun with new scares, characters and scenes. 35560 Goddard Road in Romulus. Tickets start at $22.

Hush Haunted Attraction

Through Nov. 4: Attractions at this 40,000-square foot location includes four haunted attractions with chilling secrets and three secret bars hidden within the shadows. 37550 Cherry Hill Road in Westland. Tickets start at $23.99.

Halloween fun at the DSO

Oct. 27-28: The following Halloween-themed programs will be at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center:

Andrew Alden Ensemble will perform live music to the silent horror film "The Phanton of the Opera" (1925). The DSO does not appear as part of this performance.

● Rock O-Ween with Miss Paula and the Candy Bandits, a Tiny Tots concert full of popular children's songs set to a rock 'n' roll beat. The show is designed for children 2-6 and their families. The DSO does not appear as part of this performance.

● Dr. FREAKuency's Major Monster Bash conducted by Enrico Lopez-Yanez will feature classic and modern orchestral favorites, plus an audience sing-along.

Tickets are $12-$20 at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center, 3711 Woodward Ave. in Detroit.

Oakland County

Zoo Boo

2-6 p.m. Oct. 7-8, 14-15 and 20-22: Explore the Detroit Zoo and experience festive pumpkin displays, strolling entertainment, trick-or-treating stations and others Halloween-themed activities. The zoo is at 8450 W. Ten Mile in Royal Oak. Admission for ages 2 and older is $24.

Canterbury Halloween Stroll

Friday through Sunday through Oct. 29: Stroll through the village, which will feature themed exhibits like a haunted pet cemetery and a creepy circus. Walk along a path lit by orange glowing lamp posts, giant glowing skeletons and jack-o'-lanterns. Enjoy passing through the spooky carousel house, pumpkin trees, scarecrow row, the tunnel of fun and more. Canterbury Village, 2325 Joslyn Ct. in Lake Orion. Click Canterbury Village for tickets.

Erebus Haunted Attraction

Through Nov. 4: Experience chills and thrills as you walk-through this four-story haunted attraction and experience spooky fun in the tower of terror.

7:30-10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to midnight Friday, 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday and 6-11 p.m. Sunday at 18 South Perry St. in Pontiac. Tickets start at $20 and can be purchased at the site or at Erebus Haunted Attraction.

Haunted Forest: CarnEvil

Through Oct. 29 (Thursday through Sunday): Go for a night walk and explore an illuminated forest filled with frights and delights at this family-friendly event. The display of lights, sounds and wonder on the mile-long long trail can take about an hour depending on your walking speed.

Glenlore trails is on the property of Multi Lakes Conservation Association at 3860 Newton in Commerce Township. Admission is $25 for ages 13 and older, $20 for ages 65 and older, $15 for ages 4-12 and free for children 3 and younger. Tickets are on sale at glenloretrails.com.

HallowGlow TreeRunner

Friday-Sunday through Oct. 29: Colored LED lights and music create a unique and exciting nighttime climbing experience. During Glow Nights, participants can climb through the treetop courses while being surrounded by vibrant colors and a festive atmosphere.

Guests are encouraged to arrive and participate in costume. There will be a best costume contest on Saturdays. For those who choose not to climb, there is a non-climbing option for $10 that include Gem Mining, Mini Golf and a bag of candy. Two- or three-hour experiences are available. Minimum age is 6.

HallowGlow starts after 6 p.m. at Treerunner Adventure Park, 6200 Drake Road in West Bloomfield Township. Tickets start at $39.

Azre Chamber of Horrors

Through Nov. 4: Each chamber is more menacing than the last at this multi-level maze haunted house. There's a new terror at every turn. 31401 John R Road in Madison Heights. General admission is $35.

Macomb County

Haunted Weekends at Blake’s Big Apple

6-10 p.m. thru Oct. 29 (Thursday through Sunday): Haunted attractions at Blake’s Big Apple will include zombie paintball, a haunted barn, a spooky 3D maze, a haunted hayride and more. 71485 North Ave. in Armada. Advance tickets are required. Tickets start at $17.95.

Trick or Treat Train Rides

Oct. 22 and Oct. 29: Join the costumed crew and let the kids dress up for ride that lasts up to 45 minutes. Afterward, children can get a treat from Michigan Transit Museum volunteers.

Tunnel of Terror Car Wash

6-9 p.m. Fridays through Oct. 27: Halloween characters can be seen around the wash before your vehicle is washed inside Clean View Auto Washes' foggy Halloween auto wash tunnel. Snap pictures with characters at the vacuum bays after your wash. $17.
