Harry Styles and Taylor Russell have reportedly split. The musician and the actor had been sparking some major romance rumors with a handful of appearances together since 2023, but it's all allegedly come to an end.

Though Harry Styles and Taylor Russell never publicly confirmed their relationship, the public couldn't stop dreaming about the power of their combined closets once the first few paparazzi pictures of them together started spreading. The style superstars are constantly praised for their stage and red carpet looks — especially Russell — so even the prospect of the two dating felt like a (sartorial) match made in heaven.

Before they were seen traveling the world together, Styles and Russell had also been romantically linked to some pretty big names in the past, including Emily Ratajkowski and Timothée Chalamet, respectively. But what's really happened between the pair? Below, look back on everything we know about Styles and Russell's alleged relationship — from their reported split to their potential origins.

May 19, 2024: Harry Styles and Taylor Russell reportedly split

British tabloid The Sun was the first to report news of Harry Styles and Taylor Russell's breakup, citing insider information claiming the duo split in April after their trip to Japan. “Harry and Taylor have ended their relationship. They went through a rough patch after their trip to Japan and are taking some time apart," a source claimed. “They made a lovely couple and it was obvious Taylor made Harry happy. Things have become strained recently though and they’ve taken some time out.”

May 6, 2024: Taylor Russell attends the Met Gala 2024 solo

Given how much both of them are into fashion, many expected Harry Styles and Taylor Russell to make their red carpet debut together at the Met Gala 2024 red carpet, but all hopes were crashed when Russell arrived solo wearing a stunning wood-inspired corset by Loewe. Harry Styles has only attended one Met Gala, in 2019, when he served as co-chair, so there could be many reasons why the star was among the Met Gala skippers. Just a few days before the Gala, the Daily Mail snapped photos of Styles biking around London's Primrose Hill without a care in the world.

April 2024: Harry Styles and Taylor Russell are seen together in Tokyo

Towards the end of April, multiple people claimed to see Harry Styles and Taylor Russell on a trip together in Tokyo, Japan, where they were photographed walking around.

January 2024: Harry Styles and Taylor Russell ring in the new year in Anguilla

As reported by the Daily Mail, Harry Styles and Taylor Russell rang in the new year in Anguilla alongside James Corden. The trio were all smiles as they were spotted soaking in the sun and having fun sipping on drinks and taking selfies on the coast.

November 2023: Harry Styles and Taylor Russell attend U2's Las Vegas residency concert

Remember when the world learned that Harry Styles had shaven his head? Yeah, he was not alone. While everyone seemed to focus on Styles' buzzcut, there was also some PDA with Russell during their time together at the U2 concert in the Las Vegas Sphere.

October 2023: A source close to Harry Styles and Taylor Russell seemingly confirms their relationship

Speaking to Us Weekly, a source close to the so-far-rumored couple seemingly confirmed their relationship publicly, saying: “Harry is head over heels for Taylor and loves spending as much time with her as he can. Despite their busy schedules, they make time for each other as often as possible. Even though they’re both busy with their careers, they support one another any chance they get. Things are very serious, and Harry definitely sees a future with Taylor.”

OK, so while it still was not concrete proof, photos of Styles and Russell grabbing coffee in London and holding hands sent fans into a tailspin. Both the actor and the singer are dressed down in the pics, with Russell in jeans and an orange jacket and Styles in black pants and a black jacket layered over a hoodie. It's important to note that we haven't heard a peep from Russell, Styles, or their representatives about this alleged relationship to this day, so we can't say anything for certain… but it sure does look like they were enjoying each other's company.

August 10, 2023: Harry Styles attends the opening night of Taylor Russell's play.

Styles added fuel to the rumor mill when he showed up at the opening night of Russell's play The Effect at the National Theatre in London. The Daily Mail snapped the duo looking cozy at the after-party and hanging out with Styles's good friend James Corden and his wife. A couple of weeks after, the duo were later filmed holding hands as they walked around central London.

July 2023: Romance rumors start to fly for Harry Styles and Taylor Russell.

First, the pair were seen together at a gallery. Then, Russell was spotted in the VIP section at a Love On Tour stop in Vienna, and the two were seen exploring the city together. Shortly thereafter, Russell attended the final Love On Tour show in Italy. We'll take these sightings with a grain of salt, but compelling evidence nonetheless.

June 2023: Harry Styles and Taylor Russell are photographed together for the first time

Fans started spreading a picture of Taylor Russell and Harry Styles hanging out together for the first time in London, England, with the pair standing super close to each other.

March 2023: Harry Styles is seen kissing Emily Ratajkowski, and Taylor Russell is linked to Timothée Chalamet.

Not too long after his highly publicized breakup from Wilde, Styles was photographed and videotaped publicly making out with model Emily Ratajkowski. However, we didn't see much from them after, so it must have just been a fun fling. Over in Russell's world, she was briefly linked to her Bones and All costar Timothée Chalamet, who played her love interest in the film, but nothing was ever confirmed.

November 2022: Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde break up.

The singer and his director/actor girlfriend split up in late 2022. “He's still touring and is now going abroad. She is focusing on her kids and her work in L.A.,” a source said. "It's a very amicable decision."
