Harry Styles Proves He is the 'Beyonce' Of One Direction
If you want to describe Harry Styles in the simplest of terms, you can’t. The man is an absolute curiosity and unanimously adored by millions from various demographics. There is really no explanation for how, or why Harry has “the sauce”. His cool, calm and irresistible sexy James Dean day dream demeanor has propelled his career to great heights, not to mention he’s a pretty good singer. While One Direction was together it was obvious like with any famous group who the star is. Harry unsurprisingly was, and still proves to be that.

There is no exaggeration when proclaiming that “One Direction” had to be one of the most influential boy bands of all time. Their music reached across oceans and borders. It brought people of various socioeconomic and racial ties together. The love of these five men Niall, Louis, Liam, Harry, and Zayn couldn’t be contained, until like with any iconic group tension occur and someone decides to leave. Zayn Malik took the world by storm when he publically made the choice of parting with One Direction. He did so due to desiring a normal life not so hyper focused on the machine put in place by Simon Cowell and his record label. This decision proved to be a good one for Zayn because later on he released his debut album to heaps of overly anxious fans who responded to it with loads of positivity. This move surely gave Zayn the assurance he needed to move forward from the squeaky clean image of his past, and embrace a more grown up scene. Ironically many fans thought Harry would be the first to bow out but in a graceful fashion he stuck through with the band until their mutually agreed hiatus in 2015.
When he went on to release his own first album there was a lot of talk over what his sound would be like. Is he going to continue the One Direction vibe? Will he tap into a country market. His ex counterpart Zayn jumped headfirst into R&B which admittedly fit his voice better sonically. But, with Harry’s out of the box character, there was no telling. He wasn't predictable like Zayn so his album could’ve been anything. When H1 was put out in 2017 people loved it. His fanbase grew even more and the directioners continued to support him with his ventures. But, that couldn't be said for all members of 1D.
With Liam Payne more recently putting out his album right after Harry released his sophomore album Fine Line to huge success, there was a big fat discrepancy between who was more popular, and who wasn't. It’s tough to say but some members just are not meant to be solo artists. Their talents are nicer put against a team of other vocalists. Not everyone can be Beyonce, and swallowing that pill of pride that you arent can be agonizing. Now, this doesn't mean that necessarily Niall, Louis, or Liam aren't as talented as Styles or Malik. It just means that star power is hard to come by.
