Harry Potter, Nintendo and Monsters Lands Set for New ‘Epic Universe’ Theme Park at Universal

Universal Studios is set to add new Harry Potter attractions as well as a Nintendo area and Universal Monsters section to its Florida resort with the opening of a fourth park.

Called Universal Epic Universe, the park will open in 2025 with over 50 new experiences including attraction, entertainment, dining and shopping located in five themed worlds:

Celestial Park: Offering a bucolic entry into the new park this land will feature rolling gardens and picturesque waterways. It will also have rides, including a new racing coaster called Starfall Racers and a carousel inspired by constellations. “Step into a lush, green world where thrills, entertainment, dining and shopping lead all who enter on an exhilarating journey of discovery,” Universal says of the new land.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic: Inspired by the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise this will offer guests a chance to step into 1920s Paris as well as the London-based Ministry of Magic. “From 1920s Paris to the 1990s British Ministry, explore international wizarding communities and the magic that connects them in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.”

Super Nintendo World: Similar to its L.A. outpost, the Mario-inspired land will include rides and experiences themed to some of Nintendo’s classic characters and games. “At Super Nintendo World you’ll experience a new way to play, from challenging Bowser on the Mario Kart ride to venturing through Donkey Kong Country and so much more.”

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk: Guests will have a chance to go on a Viking adventure inspired by the film franchise. “Take to the skies and soar with dragons as you explore the colourful Viking village at the heart of Berk. Take part in wild boat battles, feast like a Viking and more”

Dark Universe: A land inspired by the Universal Monsters. “From the experiments of Dr Victoria Frankenstein to a shadowy landscape where monsters roam, Dark Universe is a world of myth and mystery.”

The new addition to Universal’s Orlando stable will also include the opening of three new hotels, one themed to space and the other to earth. A third hotel, Universal Helios Grand Hotel, will be located inside the park with an entrance directly into the new Celestial Park.

Universal Orlando already boasts two theme parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, plus a water park called Volcano Bay.

More details about the new “Harry Potter” and Universal Monsters rides and experiences are set to be revealed in the coming months.
