Harry Potter Lego sets of Hagrid’s Hut, the Knight Bus, and more are on sale

Johnny Depp Exits 'Fantastic Beasts' Franchise, Role to Be Recast

Johnny Depp is leaving the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

With scenes featuring snowy villages, butter beer by the fireside, Christmastime Wizard’s Chess in the Great Hall, and even a Yule Ball, it’s hard to resist watching Harry Potter come the holidays. Like Die Hard, whether Harry Potter movies count as Christmas films remain a minor pop cultural debate, but that’s perhaps the reason these movies come to mind when the temperature drops — and why Harry Potter-related gifts are usually popular this time of the year.

That also might be the reason Harry Potter Lego sets are selling out across retailers, with Amazon and Walmart all running low on stock for building kits related to the franchise. Luckily, those in need of a holiday gift (or just want to add to their Lego collection) can still grab select sets, with some like Hagrid’s Hut and The Knight Bus, in stock and even on sale.

Buy it! Harry Potter Hagrid's Hut: Buckbeak's Rescue, $47.99 (orig. $59.99) at walmart.com; Harry Potter Forbidden Forest: Umbridge’s Encounter Set, $24 (orig. $29.99) at amazon.com, walmart.com

Sets that are marked down include a Chamber of Secrets Number 4 Privet Drive kit that comes with figures of Dobby, the Dursleys, Mr. Weasley’s flying Ford Anglia, and even mini Hogwarts letters that come whizzing through the Dursleys’ fireplace. Prisoner of Azkaban fans can choose between a 400-piece set of The Knight Bus and one depicting Buckbeak’s rescue from Hagrid’s Hut complete with pumpkins and a Hermione figurine in her iconic pink hoodie. The Order of Phoenix fans can get a Forbidden Forest: Umbridge’s Encounter set that sees the evil Ministry of Magic bureaucrat face off against Hagrid’s giant brother, Grawp.

While there’s only a limited number of Harry Potter Lego sets on sale at Amazon and Walmart, shoppers who don’t mind paying full price can pick up kits like a new 2020 model of the Astronomy Tower, a 900-piece Clock Tower set depicting the Yule Ball, and one of the Whomping Willow scene from Chamber of Secrets. Most Harry Potter Lego sets are currently back-ordered at Amazon, but Walmart is still offering free two-day shipping for certain kits on time for delivery by Christmas.

With so many sets flying off shelves, we’d recommend snapping one up sooner rather than later. Shop seven Harry Potter Lego sets still available below.
