Harry Connick Jr. Sued Over Nasty Car Accident Involving His Daughter

Harry Connick Jr. is being dragged to court after his daughter allegedly caused a car accident in Los Angeles resulting in injuries.

According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Connick's daughter -- Sara Kate  -- was allegedly involved in a car crash near the intersection of Melrose Ave. and Martel on July 22, 2022.

In the filing, a person named Myrika Hairston claims she was injured during the pile-up and has suffered damages which include "hospital and medical expenses." The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Courts and named the legendary singer as a defendant. It should be noted, the complaint specifically points out that Sara Kate was driving, but Harry Connick and his wife, Jill are "owners" of the vehicle.

Details of the actual accident are minimal in the lawsuit, but the person looking for quite a large amount of damages. According to the suit, Hairston says the damages exceeded $25,000.

This isn't the first time Harry's daughters have had trouble that splashed their names into the headlines. Back in 2015, Connick's daughter -- Georgia -- was arrested and charged with providing alcohol to minors at a party. At the time, a USA Today report stated the 19-year-old held a party at her family's New Canann, Connecticut home while her parents were out of town. Someone called the cops to report underage drinking, and upon arrival police found many young people running away from the house into the woods.

Of course, they discovered several "empty and partially empty beer cans" inside.

Other A-list celebrities have been dragged into a car accident lawsuit due to their kid's issues. As we reported, Arnold Schwarzenegger was named as a defendant in a similar lawsuit, involving his youngest son -- Chris Schwarzenegger  -- because he owned the vehicle. The accident took place on the famous Sunset Strip and allegedly caused "severe injuries."

"As a direct and proximate result of the acts and omissions of the (The Schwarzenegger’s) he has received severe injuries to (his) body and shock and injuries to (his) nervous system, all of which cause him severe pain and discomfort," the lawsuit stated.

In most cases, the insurance will cover the costs of any accident of this type. But, celebrities often get hit with civil lawsuits, once the other side knows the person or family is famous. Again, any settlement or payment will most likely come from the insurance company.

Despite the legal woes, the Connick family has tons to be thankful for including Harry's wife successfully battling cancer. In April, the couple celebrated 29 years of marriage. The legendary singer opened up on social media about the tremendous occasion, telling her "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, JILLY!!! ❤️. I have been married to this queen for 29 years and I thank God every day for her…"

Adding, "jilly, you are my entire world – you’re the reason I’m anything at all… happy anniversary.. ily."

Jill Goodacre (Connick), a former Victoria's Secret model, was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2012 after a routine yearly mammogram.
