‘Harley Quinn’ Nabs Season 5 Renewal at Max
Max wants more of Gotham’s most notorious antiheroine.
The streamer has ordered a fifth season of Harley Quinn, the adult animated series centered on the mayhem-loving character. The renewal comes two months after season four wrapped.

“We’re thrilled that the news of Harley and Ivy’s continuing misadventures is finally out and we can stop telling people in secret,” executive producers Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey said in a statement. “We must have handed out at least three thousand NDAs by now. It was a big waste of paper.”
Kaley Cuoco (who’s also an exec producer) voices the title role in Harley Quinn. Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches, Tony Hale, Jason Alexander, J.B. Smoove, Briana Cuoco, Giancarlo Esposito, Harvey Guillén, Christopher Meloni and Jacob Tremblay also star.
“The talented Harley Quinn team has once again succeeded in delivering a season that builds on everything that has come before while still feeling fresh and inventive,” said Suzanna Makkos, executive vp original comedy and adult animation for Max and Adult Swim. “They continue to provide hilarious, heartwarming, and deranged stories with our lovable group of DC misfits, and we couldn’t be more excited for the fans to see what they’ve accomplished in season five.”
Added Peter Girardi, executive vp alternative programming at Warner Bros. Animation, “Harley Quinn has raised the comedic crowbar with every new season. We’re excited to continue this partnership with Max and take our biggest swing yet for season five.”
Season four found Harley going out on her own after breaking up with the Joker (Tudyk). With help from Poison Ivy (Bell) and a crew of DC castoffs, Harley tries to work her way into the Legion of Doom, before an identity crisis sends her on a larger quest to find her true place in Gotham City.
Halpern and Schumacker’s Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions produces Harley Quinn along with Lorey’s Lorey Stories, Cuoco’s Yes, Norman Productions and Warner Bros. Animation. Halpern, Schumacker and Lorey developed the show, and Lorey serves as showrunner. They executive produce with Cuoco, WB Animation head Sam Register and Katie Rich.
